The WCP Friction Brake 1/2 inch Hex is designed to help robotics teams maintain precise position control in arms, elevators, and other rotating subsystems. By adding passive holding force, the friction brake supports your PID controller and can fully hold a mechanism in place without requiring motor power.
This friction brake is built for easy mechanical integration and shares common mounting patterns used across many FRC robot designs. It is compatible with both 1.875 inch and 2 inch bolt patterns, matching VersaBlocks and supporting seamless installation into existing drivetrains and mechanisms. The assembly is also compatible with the Rotation SS Gearbox and WCP Bearing Block, making it a flexible solution for a wide range of robotics applications.
The kit includes:
- WCP-0200 Friction Brake (3/8" & 1/2" Hex)
- WCP-0201 Friction Brake Pad (2" Bolt Pattern, Silicone Rubber, 45A) 45A Silicone Rubber
- A pneumatic cylinder is required for actuation and is not included.
