We are pleased to announce the launch of the new version of our website and store front. This is something our staff has been looking forward to for quite some time.
The new site is now live at https://newsite.ctr-electronics.com/
What about the old site? And why the different URL?
The older site is still live at http://www.ctr-electronics.com/. To smooth the transition for our customers, we are simultaneously running both the old and new sites.
This way customers can still access their original accounts and use older documentation links in the short term. Once we feel that enough time has passed, all links will point to the new platform, which will happen before the end of 2021.
This also means there is plenty of time for customers to provide feedback before the old site is no longer available.
What about my account?
All customer accounts created prior to June 10th, 2021, have been migrated to the new site. However, you will be prompted to set a new password when you log in. Customers who created accounts after that date will need to make a new account.
Customers that had tax exemption will need to reapply for exemption status. Instructions can be found here.
Unfortunately, previous orders will not be migrated to the new platform. If you need to archive your previous purchases, we recommend logging into your account on the older site and saving your order history.
What about software hosted binaries?
Our maven hosted API binaries are still hosted at https://devsite.ctr-electronics.com/.
Software developers will not be impacted by the transition.
Why the change?
We have been steadily outgrowing the platform features used in the original store. At a certain point, it became clear that we needed to switch to a more modern platform in order to fulfill customer expectations, including:
- Purpose-driven navigation (purchaser vs software-developer vs researching new products).
- Traditional Blog (Phoenix Blogs will be migrated here).
- Improved readability and aesthetics.
- Improved mobile experience.
- Platform stability – meaning adding new features does not impose risk to base functionalities.
- Better cart experience.
- Access to a wide variety of stable store extensions.
Where should I buy products from?
Both stores are fully operational, and you can purchase from either. Inventories are up to date on both sites, including the recent shipment of Falcon 500s.
We do recommend using the new platform as the user experience is better.
Over the next few weeks, we will continue to make tweaks. You may notice things like product images being updated, adjustments to product categories, style or font changes, etc.
